Oak Park man charged with bringing gun onto school grounds

May 4, 2022 – An Oak Park man has been charged after bringing a gun onto school grounds at Oak Park River Forest High School on Tuesday.

Keyon Robinson, 18, of the 1000 block of Washington Boulevard, has been charged with two counts of Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon. He was also found to have an active warrant out of DuPage County for a traffic violation.

The Cook County State’s attorney determined the charges late Tuesday and Robinson appeared this morning at a bond hearing at the 4th District Circuit Court in Maywood.

Oak Park Police responded around 12:30 p.m. Tuesday to a report that Robinson intended to bring a gun to Oak Park and River Forest High School.

Robinson was stopped on school grounds before entering the building. A loaded handgun was recovered and he was taken into custody.
