Community Blood Drives

About every two seconds, someone in the U.S. needs blood or platelets, and one blood donation often saves more than one life.

To help supply local community blood centers, the Oak Park Public Health and Fire departments often host blood drives. Check this space for details on when and where to donate blood and save lives in our community.

Importance of donating blood

The U.S. is experiencing a national blood shortage and facing the lowest number of people giving blood in 20 years.

The Oak Park Public Health Department encourages as many Oak Parkers as possible to give blood.

Blood donations are needed now to alleviate the shortage and ensure lifesaving medical procedures are not delayed.

One donation can save up to three lives.
