Jackson sworn in as Village Manager

March 22, 2022 - Kevin Jackson was sworn in as Village Manager during a special ceremony Monday evening in the Council Chamber at Village Hall.

He is the 11th person to hold the title since Oak Park adopted the Village Manager form of government in 1953 and Oak Park’s first Black Village Manager.

In his new role Jackson serves as the administrative head of the Village of Oak Park municipal government, overseeing the day-to-day operations of all departments.

Jackson’s career in local government spans 25 years. Prior to assuming his role as Oak Park’s Village Manager, he had served for more than four years as Deputy City Manager of Long Beach, Calif.

He also spent more than nine years as Neighborhood Services Director for the City of Champaign, Ill., after serving in progressive roles in city governments in Arizona.

Jackson has a Master of Public Administration and Bachelor's degrees in Psychology and Sociology from Arizona State University.

He also is a member of the International City Managers Association (ICMA) and the National Forum for Black Public Administrators.
