Jan. 23, 2019 – An incident that began in Chicago ended in Oak Park with the apprehension of two men running through a neighborhood, one carrying a rifle.
Both men were taken into custody and turned over to Chicago Police. No injuries were reported and no shots were fired in Oak Park.
According to Oak Park Police, gun shots had been reported in Chicago and a vehicle fitting the description provided by Chicago Police was spotted shortly after 8 a.m. today traveling westbound on Jackson Boulevard in the Village.
Oak Park Police were following the vehicle at low speeds when it apparently had a mechanical problem near Jackson and Maple Avenue that prompted its two occupants to flee on foot. Both men were quickly apprehended by Chicago Police.
