May 30, 2022 - Oak Park Police are investigating an incident involving aggravated battery with a firearm that occurred shortly after midnight Monday in the area of Roosevelt Road and Cuyler Avenue and left the victim with minor injuries.
The victim, a 34-year-old male, said the shooting incident stemmed from an argument with an unknown male that began at a business in the 6300 block of Roosevelt Road in Berwyn. The victim stated that after leaving the business a vehicle pulled up and an unknown male began firing at them with a handgun, striking the victim in the leg.
The victim’s companion, a registered gun owner, then returned fire before the offending vehicle fled northbound from the scene.
The victim was transported by his companion to Oak Park Hospital where he was treated for two gunshot wounds to the leg and discharged a short time later.
