Update: Man charged with attempted murder
Aug. 10, 2020 – A 44-year-old Chicago man has been charged with attempted murder after DNA evidence connected him to a May 11 incident in the 200 block of Clinton Avenue that left two men with non-life-threatening gunshots wounds.
Tarik Page, whose last known address was the 2100 block of West Warren Avenue, was charged with two counts of attempted murder in what originally was reported as an attempted home invasion.
In the initial report, the victims, a 58-year-old father and his 20-year-old son, told Police they were awakened shortly before 2 a.m. on May 11 by the sound of someone trying to gain entry by smashing a window in the door of their home
When one of the victims shouted that he was calling 911, they said the offender fired several shots through the broken door window. One of the victims was struck in the shoulder, the other in the buttocks.
The DNA sample came from blood on the broken door glass at the scene.
An off-duty Oak Park Police detective saw page yesterday in the 7100 block of West Cermak Avenue in Berwyn. Officers from the Berwyn Police Department detained Page without incident and turned him over to the Oak Park Police Department.
Bond was set at $2 million at hearing today at 4th District Circuit Court in Maywood.

May 11, 2020 – Oak Park Police are investigating an apparent attempted home invasion early this morning in the 200 block of Clinton Avenue that left two men with non-life-threatening gunshots wounds.
The victims, a 58-year-old father and his 20-year-old son, told Police they were awakened shortly before 2 a.m. today by the sound of someone trying to gain entry by smashing a window in the door of their home
When one of the victims called out that he was calling 911, they said the offender fired several shots through the broken door window.

Both men were transported to Loyola Medical Center in Maywood.
