July 24, 2023 – The Village and its community partners are marking the one-year anniversary of the adoption of Oak Park’s climate plan by hosting One Year In: Community Conversations on Climate Ready Oak Park.
The event is taking place from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 7 at the Oak Park Public Library Veterans Room, 834 Lake St. It offers a chance for community members to help track Oak Park’s progress and goals in the area of environmental sustainability.
The discussion will be a world café-style event where participants rotate between various stations. A facilitator and documenter at each station will capture the conversation, answer questions and gather feedback around three key questions:
Free snacks, activities for kids and babysitting will be available during the event. Participants are welcome to stop by at any point during the two-hour event.
Anyone planning to attend is encouraged to register for the event on the Library's website - click here to register.
Those unable to attend the in-person event, or who wish to share more, are invited to leave feedback for the Village's Office of Sustainability & Resilience online via Engage Oak Park.
After the event, the Village will publish a brief report celebrating Oak Park’s collective progress over the past year and community strategies for moving forward in the next year.
The community discussion is hosted by the Village, Oak Park Library, One Earth Local, Arbor West Neighbors, Climate Ready COOP and the Oak Park Climate Action Network.
