Individuals without health insurance soon will be able to find coverage through The Health Insurance Marketplace.
Beginning Oct. 1, consumers can compare and select a health insurance plan on the basis of price, benefits, quality and other factors at www.healthcare.gov. The website also offers a wide range of information to help consumers make an affordable choice.
Residents who have difficulty navigating the online marketplace or have questions can call 800.318.2596 toll-free (TTY 855.889.4325) or contact the Health Department at 708.358.5483 or email health@oak-park.us.
Applications will be accepted via telephone and U.S. Mail as well as online.
The 2010 federal Affordable Health Care Act requires all Americans to have health insurance beginning Jan. 1.
