State to host drive-thru, walk-up testing in Oak Park on Dec. 28

The Illinois Department of Public Health will host a drive-thru/walk-up Covid-19 testing site from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Mon., Dec. 28 in the parking lot of Fenwick High School, 505 Washington Blvd. Access to the testing site will be from East Avenue, just north of Madison Street.

The testing event, arranged by the Oak Park Department of Public Health, will be open to all regardless of symptoms or immigration status.

Officials say the event is targeting at-risk individuals who may lack transportation to a state-supported community testing site or qualify for a free test at a pharmacy like Walgreen's or CVS

Individuals will be tested on a first come, first served basis. No payment is required. However anyone who has insurance coverage should bring their cards.

Specimens will be collected using a simple nasal swab.

More information about the state mobile testing program is posted online.
