Earth Fest set for April 22

The Village’s eighth annual celebration of green living — Earth Fest — is scheduled for 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sat., April 22 at the Public Works Center, 201 South Blvd. Focusing on green neighborhoods, sustainable lifestyles and best practices, this year’s event will include food trucks, vendors and information booths highlighting local environmental organizations and initiatives. Booths for recycling eyeglasses, sun glasses and hearing aids also are planned. In addition, the event will feature tours of the LEED Gold-certified Public Works facility, with a behind-the-scenes look at service delivery and opportunities for children to sit in big trucks and other cool equipment.
