Water Your Trees During Drought

Trees cool the air – around 10 degrees cooler!  They also fight climate change, which is making our summers hotter.

Here are some tips from the non-profit Climate Ready Community Outreach to Oak Park (COOP) for caring for trees in warm weather:

Water widely from the trunk to the edge of the dripline (under the tips of the branches).

  • Overwatering is just as bad as under watering.

Mulch your trees like a donut to keep the soil more moist.
