Community health programs free to Oak Park residents

Oak Park residents looking to achieve a healthy lifestyle are eligible to participate at no cost in comprehensive programs offered by West Cook YMCA that nurture the spirit, mind and body. The community programs include:

  • Diabetes Prevention Program: Free, year-long intervention that supports participants in healthier eating and increasing physical activity to reduce health risks through lifestyle changes. Click here for more information and to enroll.
  • Blood Pressure Self-Monitoring Program: Free, four-month program designed to help adults with hypertension lower and manage their blood pressure. Click here for more information and to enroll.
  • YMCA Weight Loss Program: Free, three-month lifestyle change program designed to help people seeking a healthier weight achieve their goals by making small, modest changes to their daily behaviors and forming sustainable, healthy habits. Click here for more information and to enroll.

Through a partnership with the Village made possible by the American Rescue Plan Act, all community health programs at the West Cook YMCA are complimentary for residents and include a membership to the West Cook YMCA for the duration of the program. For more information contact cdp@westcookymca.org.
